The apocalypse arrived on May 4th, 2023, when the worlds of Last Shelter: Survival and AMC’s The Walking Dead collided in a groundbreaking collaboration. This limited-time in-game event brings together two behemoth fan bases to fight off the zombie threat alongside fan-favorite characters from the smash hit AMC television series.
Last Shelter: Survival’s publisher worked with Mijiba Games’ IP Licensing Team to facilitate the collaboration with AMC, which promises to deliver a riveting experience for players worldwide, with iconic locations from the series (like the prison, the Alexandria Safe-Zone and the Greene Family Farm) appearing in the game as base skins and landscape decors.
AMC’s The Walking Dead is the highest-rated series in cable television history, and will bring its apocalyptic vision and iconic characters to bear in the gritty desolation of Last Shelter: Survival, a mobile survival SLG with over 100 million downloads. The Commander of the Wasteland will fight side-by-side with Daryl and Maggie to survive Doomsday, a battle against the odds. Players can look for Doomsday treasures, navigate through the horde of zombies, and defeat them to collect rewards.
Mijiba Games worked closely with the publisher to ensure a seamless integration, which included designing 3D character models, defining the monetization strategy, and overall ideation for the event. Under challenging production constraints and a tight deadline, Mijiba was able to navigate the supervision process while avoiding risks and obstacles to ensure an on-time launch in just four months.
AMC is home to some of the most popular and acclaimed original programs on television. AMC was the first basic cable network to ever win the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Drama Series with Mad Men in 2008, which then went on to win the coveted award four years in a row, before Breaking Bad won it in 2013 and 2014, and the network’s series The Walking Dead is the highest-rated series in cable television history. AMC’s current original series include Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, Fear the Walking Dead, Dark Winds and the forthcoming series The Walking Dead: Dead City, Lucky Hank, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, among others.
AMC is owned and operated by AMC Networks Inc. and is available across all platforms, including on-air, online, on demand, mobile, and on AMC+, the company’s premium streaming bundle featuring content from across AMC and sister networks BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV as well as streaming services Shudder, Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited.
